St Maarten Exploration by Kayak

Paddle your way to paradise on this St. Martin kayaking day—a day to live forever in memories. After making your way to the meeting point in Simpson Bay, you will meet your guide for a paddling demonstration on the beach. After your quick lesson, you will board your sit-on-top-type kayaks, which offer exceptional stability, and follow your guides on a gentle paddle across the Bay, under the Simpson Bay Bridge, and into the Lagoon. You will pass the incredible mega-yachts docked at the various marinas that dot the coastline of the Simpson Bay Lagoon (Mega-Yacht season is from November to April), and explore the mangroves along the Bellevue coastline. The guides will point out interesting creatures like the upside-down jellyfish and the strange sea cucumbers which thrive in these shallow waters. Keep your eyes open for the rarely seen grey and blue herons which nest in these quiet havens. Continue on along the coast, where you will be shown the invisible border that has signified a peaceful separation of the Dutch and French parts of St. Maarten since 1648. Paddling past some of the world’s most luxurious motor yachts, you will continue out through the bridge into the quiet bay for a well-deserved swim at the beautiful Simpson Bay Beach. Return to your starting point where, you will enjoy a cold drink and good conversation with your guides at a nearby restaurant. This tour requires a minimum of 4 guests to operate.

Private Two Islands and Beach from Marigot

Enjoy this private tour of both sides of St. Martin. Departing from Marigot, you will drive to the Dutch side of St. Maarten via Cole Bay and Belle Vue, making a photo stop at the Harold Jack lookout point, located high on a hill overlooking the sea where (clouds permitting), you will have fantastic views of the neighboring islands of Saba (the home of Kong in the original King Kong movie) and St. Eustatius to the south, and British Anguilla to the north. Upon arrival in Philipsburg, you will make a short stop at the Rima shop. There, you will find a cornucopia of resort and island fashions, from peasant skirts to pareos, bonnets to bags, Caftans, tunic pants, beach accessories and much, much more, all in luscious tropical colors. Now that you are in the true tropic frame of mind, you will continue with a drive through the main street of the Dutch capital. There you will see some of the famous St. Maarten shops as well as the restored courthouse, originally built in 1793. Drive past the Great Salt Pond and through the rolling country as you make your way back towards the French side of the island, via a different route. Continue on to the famous Orient Bay, perhaps as well known for its relaxed dress code as for its white sand beach and aqua blue water. Here you will have approximately one hour to swim, stroll, soak up the sun or purchase a tropical drink in one of the many local beach cafes and bars. After the beach, you will travel along the French side of the island to Grand Case, a seaside town known as the "gourmet capital of the Caribbean," with its gingerbread houses and sidewalk bistros. A drive through the main street will give you an up-close look of this quaint little town. Arriving back in Marigot, which started out as a fishing village, you will feel a truly European ambiance with a touch of Creole. Your driver guide will point out the main shopping areas where you will find the boutiques, as well as the open-air markets, which specialize in bright fabrics and souvenirs. You may choose to end your tour in the shopping area or be taken back to the pier. Those guests wishing to end the tour in the shopping area are responsible for their own transportation back to the pier. From the shops at the Marina Royale it is approximately a 15-20 minute walk back to the ferry pier. The open-air market and West Indies Mall can be seen from the ferry pier. Ships docked at the Galis Bay cargo facility are an additional 10-15 minute walk beyond the ferry pier (on the other side of Fort Marigot). Due to the short time at the beach, a chair is not included in the price of the tour. Chairs are available for rent at the beach. Be advised that European-style (clothing-optional) sunbathing may be observed throughout beaches in St. Maarten. This excursion may operate in reverse due to traffic conditions. On Sundays, most shops and restaurants on the French side are closed.

St Maarten Two Tank Certified Dive

Waters are warm and inviting, the marine life is abundant, and you'll really be able to explore the undersea world of St. Maarten on this two–tank certified dive. Moray eels, turtles and southern stingrays are common sightings, and frogfish and jawfish are a treat to find. Once you arrive at the resort and check in with the staff on the beach, you will meet your certified dive master and suit up. Your dive master chooses dive sites the morning of the dive to ensure the best decision is made based on that day’s weather and sea conditions. The custom dive boat provides a comfortable ride. The platforms provide giant stride entry and ladders allow easy exit from the water. Dive groups are kept to around 12 per boat, with two to three dive staff accompanying. After the dive, you are welcome to use the beach area for swimming. Chairs are available for rent, and food and beverages are available for sale.

St Martin Snorkel at Creole Rock

Sightseeing, snorkeling and swimming. Need we say more? Only that, on this Creole Rock visit, a truly great day is in store. Upon arrival at Simpson Bay you will check in, and with a group of no more than 15 guests, you will then board your 28-foot motor boat with sun shade and set off through the lagoon along the beautiful coastline passing Marigot Harbor, Friar's Bay and Happy Bay, arriving at Creole Rock, off Grand Case. From here, you also have views of the island of Anguilla. Creole Rock is a large rock formation with a reef extending towards the mainland, about a mile offshore. Waters are shallow and calm, and provide excellent snorkeling. The boat moors over a large sandy patch, in about eight feet of water. The site is a shallow one and the nearby reef life offers chances to see the rare frogfish, pufferfish, occasional barracuda and many different varieties of reef fish. For the novice or non-snorkeler, flotation belts and float boards are available for your enjoyment. A large cooler provides sodas throughout your trip. When you are done snorkeling, French bread, Gouda cheese and beer are served to happy, hungry snorkelers during the scenic boat ride back to Simpson Bay. Please note: Boat does not have a restroom on board. Snorkel gear is provided. Due to heavy traffic on the island, guests should not choose the afternoon departure if their ship sails before 6:00 PM.

Rock n' Roll has always been for the adventurous of spirit. So is this uplifting Snorkel Safari excursion to Creole Rock and beyond! After transferring from Marigot to Simpson Bay, check in with the staff and fill out your paperwork. Your guide, in the mother ship "Rock n' Roll" (complete with a stocked cooler), will lead you through the lagoon along the beautiful coastline passing Marigot Harbor, Friar's Bay, Happy Bay and on to Creole Rock. From here, you also have views of the island of Anguilla. Creole Rock is a large rock formation with a reef extending towards the mainland, about a mile offshore. Waters are shallow and calm and provide excellent swimming and snorkeling. Your guide will be able to help those first-timers with instruction and is also able to identify fish for you. Snorkel gear is included in the tour. On the scenic boat ride back to Simpson Bay, you will take a slightly different course. Please note: All guests will need to pay a $3 per person Marine Park fee during the tour. Cash only. The inflatable boat does not have a restroom or shade. St Martin Sail to Nirvana

Sailing, snorkeling and swimming. We've gotta hand it to you—you've picked a particularly great way to spend the day! After making your way to Simpson Bay, climb aboard your sailboat where you will find plenty of space in the shade or sun, as there are never more than 22 guests plus crew on board. Sit back, lie down, hang on and, of course, relax, as the crew welcomes you on board and the captain prepares to sail. Departing from Simpson Bay, your captain will take you on a beautiful course past bays and some of the island’s lowlands. The day’s itinerary is based on the sea / weather conditions, and your captain will take you to where you will have the best experience. Two of the captain’s favorite spots are Baie Rouge and Baie Longue. Baie Rouge has a lovely emerging reef where you may see all kinds of fish as well as turtles, stingrays, eels, starfish and who knows what else. The boat anchors close enough for you to swim to any one of three beaches. When the boat arrives at Baie Longue, it is often greeted by a school of jackfish. There is also a nice wall to snorkel on. This is also an ideal location to swing on the spinnaker or Tarzan Swing. This trapeze style swing allows guests to swing out and drop, back flip, or dive into the beautiful, blue water. During your first stop, while you are snorkeling, walking the beach, or chilling out on one of the comfy cushions, your hostess is cooking a full lunch of Caribbean-inspired treats such as coconut curry chicken with rice and fresh cilantro, usually a nice green salad and French bread, as well as an edible fruit garnish. There are always cookies and chocolates afterward. The boat's bar is open with bottled water, juices and sodas in the morning, and for after snorkeling, some of the coldest beer in St. Maarten, as well as rum punch. Please note: Due to heavy traffic in the Simpson Bay area in the afternoon, guests on cruises departing St. Martin earlier than 5:30 pm should not book this tour. Final itinerary is at the captain’s discretion on the day of the tour based on sea and weather conditions and the safety and comfort of the guests.

My family and I had an incredible day on a 6-hour private charter with Captain Michael. He knows the island very well and the boat was awesome. We have been coming to St. Maarten for over 10 years and we saw and stopped at parts of the island that we have never seen before. Everybody enjoyed the day, and we will make Robinson Boat Tours a regular day event on future visits to the island.

Jul 03, 2013
Definitely the highlight of our week in Caribbean. Mike is a fabulous captain and host and his boat is first class. Loved the sea turtles, Pinel beach (wow!), the great lunch. It was like spending a day with a good friend! Just can't say enough. You HAVE TO book this excursion!!!

Jul 03, 2013
We had an amazing time with Michael the boat driver. He took us around the islands of St Maarten and to St Barthes. He knows all the best spots for snorkeling and the quiet beaches. He gave us great advice on restaurants and bars and provided a truly unforgettable experience for us.

Jul 03, 2013
We actually live on St.Martin, for the past 15 years and this trip was a blast! There are many boats that you can charter however the difference between are the people that run them and Captain Michael made this day trip special with his expertise, friendliness and humor. If you're looking for a unique and memorable experience on St.Martin; this is it!

Jul 03, 2013
What a wonderful tour we recently had with Captain Mike!!!! It was actually beyond our expectations, he being such a gracious host, and so much attention he gave in making sure that we had a great time, which we indeed did!!! Being able to snorkel in these beautiful waters was such a treat, as was being able to see the island from the perspective of the sea instead of being on the island roads. My friends were jealous that they did other island tours while we were out doing Captain Mike's tour! Captain Mike we recommend you highly and extend to you many thanks for making our tour of the sea so memorable. The Grand Case lunch was pretty yummy also!

Jul 03, 2013
What an amazing day of boating, snorkeling and touring St. Martin ! Thank you for a superb tour and a ton of fun! We will be back for sure. Capt. Michel you are top notch.

Jul 03, 2013
We took the Robinson Tour with Captain Mike and it was awesome.! We went snorkeling, swimming and exploring the islands Tintamarre and Pinel. We saw Sea turtles and a lot of fish and had altogether a great time. We will back for sure!

Jul 03, 2013
This was the best part of our seven day cruise to the carribean! Captain Mike took on the best excursion we've ever had. The tour was informative with local information and a general history of the island. He took us to a great place to snorkel where we saw beautiful tropical fish, conch, and starfish. Then we outran the rain and got to see what a six hundred horsepower boat can do first hand! Awsome!!! Next he took us to another island were we got to see and swim with sea turtles. This too was amazing! After that we went to another private island that had a beautiful beach, with a restaurant and nice boutiques. The water was crystal clear and warm! Captain Mike really knows the best of what St Maarten has to offer, and he can defiantly get you there quick! This is a must do experience when in St Maarten! Thank you again Captain Mike, look forward to doing it again next time we go there on vacation! Tommy and Barbara

We booked a last minute excursion and Mike was able to accommodate us - we really lucked up! We had the best day and enjoyed visiting with Mike on top of everything else we did including snorkeling, swimming with sea turtles and lunch at pinel. We were a party of 8 adults ages 32-34 and everyone raved about what a great day it was and how Mike is part of the reason it was so great. He even recommended restaurants and called to make us reservations. He's awesome and we would recommend booking ASAP if you are going to St Martin!

Aug 03, 2013
My family and I visited St. Maarten for a week and spent a day with Captain Mike. It was the best day of our trip. Mike is friendly and caring and goes above and beyond to make sure that everyone has a great time. There were six of us, ages 11 to 66 and everyone had a fantastic time. The beaches were beautiful. We swam with sea turtles, snorkeled, visited some secluded beaches that you wouldn't see except by boat, had lunch on at Yellow Beach on Pinel Island and more. If you have any plans to take a snorkel trip or boat ride, you should definitely consider going with Captain Mike. We will recommend him to friends and family and if we return to St. Maarten we will plan to spend a day with him again. Thanks Captain Mike for a wonderful day and the memories that will last a lifetime!!!

Aug 03, 2013
We had a great day with Michal! Something the whole family agrees was one of the best days on the island. From baby to teens to young adults to adult - we were a group of 11. This is a great excursion. We enjoyed touring the marinas, secluded beaches, snorkeling with sea turtles and lunch at Pinel Island. Thank you for making this a happy memory for everyone. We were not rushed and loved our tour.

“Robinson Speed Boat Tours - Half Day Charter (Awesome!)” Reviewed August 6, 2013 NEW We chartered a have day with the owners of the boat Mike and Isabel - This will be the highlight of your trip. Why?.... Because there is no better way to see the island, but from the water. In addition to that, they had arranged for lunch at Pinel Island and we got the VIP treatment. They know the best places to snorkel, showed us three-fourths of the island and made the day amazing... we never felt rushed, helped determined the itineary and avoided those run-of-the-mill tours that has too many people on it. All this in a half day! If you love being on the water, going snorkeling or just relaxing on an amazing boat, pick this tour - there is no better option on the island. Oh, one more thing..... Isabel made dinner reservations for us before we left the boat for two nights and they were the best places we dined at while visiting St. Martin... Robert from New York City & Ft. Lauderdale Florida Visited July 2013

i have had so many great memories in St Maarten. I have spent time on the Dutch side St Maarten and n the French Side st Martin. Both are equally great and you really have to spend time on each side if you are going to visit. You can hire a car or rent one. i prefer to rent one. the island is really easy to get around and there are so many great beaches to stop and see. Orient Beach, Maho Beach.
