Nassau Sail & Snorkel Tour

There's something special about the serenity of a Sail and Snorkel Cruise across the blue waters of the Bahamas. With the whisper of the waves on the hull and the gentle warm ocean breezes across the bow, you will soon feel your cares slipping away. Board your waiting catamaran and set out for one of the most beautiful reefs near Nassau. The boat features spacious deck area, shaded as well as open to the warm Bahamian sun, so there is a place for everyone. The boat also has two bathrooms on board. As you sail to the reef, your crew will pass out the included snorkeling gear and give instruction on snorkeling. Depending on the sea and weather conditions that day, your captain will set a course to a location where you will have the best snorkeling experience. Upon arrival at the snorkeling spot, your crew will join you in the water to answer any questions or concerns you might have about snorkeling before you explore the wonderful underwater world of coral and marine life. Snorkeling is from the boat in water that will be over your head. Flotation vests are required while in the water and come in large and small sizes. You'll need to provide your own vests for small children and infants. Time at the reef is approximately 60 minutes. As water temperature is usually 75-80 degrees in the winter and warmer in the summer months, wetsuits are not required or provided. After your time in the water, climb back on board via the snorkeler friendly "Stairway to the Sea," and feel the wind in your hair as your catamaran makes the approximate one-hour sail towards home. You will be treated to a complimentary rum punch, fruit punch or water. There is a cash bar on board for guests wishing additional drinks or snacks. The boat will make a stop near the cruise pier area on the way back into port for those guests wishing to go back to their ship. Or you can stay on as the boat returns to Paradise Island where you can disembark near the Atlantis Resort. Guests disembarking on Paradise Island are responsible for their own transportation back to the cruise pier at their own expense. Note: It is the captain's intention to use the sails as often as possible. If for any reason the captain feels the use of sails is not safe or conducive to a prompt return to the cruise pier, whether it is related to weather, mechanical, or any other unforeseen situation, they will use the motor.

Discover Nassau Town and Atlantis

Experience the best of Nassau on this interesting and exciting tour of the island, highlighted by a visit to world-famous Atlantis Resort. Your tour begins when you meet your driver/guide at the pier and get into your air-conditioned vehicle. You will make a stop at the historic Fort Fincastle, a small fort shaped like a paddle-wheel steamer. The fort was built to protect Nassau from invaders, but it never saw warfare. At this location you will have time to explore the fort and the Queen Victoria Staircase, do some light shopping on your own, and take all the photos you want. You will then travel along Bay Street, the heart of Nassau's shopping district, and home to the native Straw Market. Other highlights include views of the Government House (official residence of the Governor General of the Bahamas since 1801), the Governor's Mansion, and Gregory's Arch. This stone arch was named after Governor John Gregory, who served around 1850. When you pass through the arch on Market Street, you cross the line that divides downtown Nassau from the rest of the country. Next you will travel to Paradise Island, an island connected to New Providence by two bridges that cross Nassau Harbour. Hog Island Lighthouse, constructed in 1817, is at the western tip of the island and can be seen from the cruise port. The highlight of Paradise Island is world-famous Atlantis, a magnificent resort with over 3,000 hotel rooms, 20 restaurants, a wide variety of stores, a 123-acre water park, beautiful beaches and the largest casino in the Bahamas. The total cost to construct Atlantis was over $2 billion. Your tour will make a short stop at Atlantis, where you'll have free time to explore the amazing lobby, casino, or the shops. After your free time you will be driven back to your ship. For those customers who wish to see more of Atlantis, a variety of options are available for purchase at the resort. The "Discover Atlantis Beach Pass" (adults $69, children $40) provides access to the aquarium, the beach, restaurants where you can purchase food and drink, and the Dig, a maze of interconnected tunnels and chambers with ruins and underwater inhabitants depicting the Lost City of Atlantis. The "Aquaventure Pass" (adults $130, children $80) provides access to the aquarium, beach, pools, water slides, the Dig, and restaurants where you can purchase food and drink. Those customers choosing to purchase either of these packages or spend more time exploring Atlantis, will want to stay at the resort longer than the tour stop. Guests wishing to end their tour at Atlantis, will need to arrange a taxi back to the ship pier at their own expense. There are many taxis available at Atlantis and the approximate cost of the ride to the ship pier is $5/person. It is up to the guest to make sure they are back to their ship before sailing time. The "Discover Atlantis Beach" and "Aquaventure" Passes are subject to availability and prices are approximate.
