Whenever I am in Kauai I rent a jeep and drive around the Island. there are so many beaches off the main roads. As you are driving, if you see a little entrance into the forest, park you car and walk in. you will find the nicest most isolated beaches you have ever seen.

Info on Kauai

Kauai is called Hawaii's Garden Island. It is renown for the enchanting beauty of its cascading emerald mountains, its flower bedecked streams and its swaying palm fringed beaches. Kauai is the most pristine and secluded of the major Hawaiian Islands where the feeling and pace of old Hawaii still lives. Abundant in sandy beaches and where no building is allowed higher than a coco palm, Kauai offers a unique new adventure and a relaxing respite from the bustle found elsewhere. Explore information about Kauai, Hawaii on our web site to discover what many return visitors already know, the magic and wonder of old Hawaii is alive and flourishing on Kauai.

Getting Around Kauai

Roughly circular in shape, Kauai is 550 square miles in area and 32 miles in diameter. With little public transportation, rental cars are highly recommended, and getting around on Kauai is easy. Kauai's roads almost encircle the entire coastline only to stop at each end of the formidable Na Pali Coast where building roads would be impossible. The breathtaking sea cliffs called Na Pali provide a natural barrier, limiting access to one of the world's most awe-inspiring and primeval places to those walking, in a helicopter or by boat. Many visitors find Poipu Beach the ideal location from which to explore Kauai since it is roughly equidistant from other famous Kauai attractions; Waimea Canyon, Polihale and the NaPali coast.  Poipu is also a prime visitor destination on its own because of its beaches, tropical beauty and sunny climate.

Kauai's Weather
Though Kauai's climate is tropical, it actually consists of many distinct microclimates, including sunny dry areas, lush river valleys, temperate foothills and high mountain rain forests. Most of the year, temperatures on Kauai range in the 70s, with winter nighttime lows in the 60s. Summers on Kauai bring daytime temperatures in the mid-80s and nighttime lows in the 70s. Even in the middle of Kauai's summer, the nearly constant gentle trade winds create a cool balmy climate instead of the oppressive heat common to many tropical destinations.

Kauai Facts
Kauai, has more sandy beaches than most other Hawaiian islands, plus nearly 45% of its coastline is virtually deserted. It's a safe bet you will find your perfect and "private" beach for snorkeling or sunning.

Kauai is home to three of the top ten rated golf courses in Hawaii. Kauai has more great golf courses than you could possibly find time to play in a week, maybe two.

Kauai has huge tropical forests, deserted coasts and lush mountains suitable for hiking, including the awe-inspiring Na Pali Coast and Waimea Canyon -- known as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific." All of these areas have easily accessible hiking trails.

Kauai's bountiful coral reefs are teeming with multitudes of colorful fish. It is easy and delightful to snorkel the clear warm waters of Kauai's lagoons.

Kauai is home to numerous rare bird and plant species, which exist nowhere else in the world. Kauai is also home to the Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge where albatross and tropical seabirds fly closely by only yards away and two locations of the awe-inspiring and educational National Tropical Botanical Gardens.
